Taste and see that the Lord is good.  Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!   Psalm 34:8 NLT

When I read that Scripture, it makes me think of food.  Which makes sense because of the word taste.  But how do we taste that the Lord is good?
Going with my whole food analogy, I think about a favorite food of mine.  Then I imagine that I haven’t eaten in a couple of days.  I can visualize myself taking the first bite, I let is sit on my tongue it’s flavor filling my mouth.  I take the time to savor its taste, aroma, and texture.
When I read the word taste in the Scripture above my mind instantly connects the word savor.  I need to slow down so that I can savor every taste, aroma, and texture of the Lord through His Word and His presence.  I don’t need to rush through my time with Him.  I need to savor, dwell completely in that moment with Him, and I will see that He is good.
When I take the time to taste and dwell in God’s presence His word promises that I will be blessed.  I don’t know about you, but that sounds pretty awesome to me!
Today, I invite you to taste, savor, and dwell in God’s Word and Presence.  And you will see how good He truly is.

Until next time blessings and healing
